Chapter Leadership

Since the chapter’s re-establishment in 2004, we’ve remained dedicated to serving our members and community by providing strategic opportunities, resources and creating anchor programs revolving around our mission of education, expansion, and empowerment for African American professionals.

Our newly integrated board speaks to the diversity this organization was founded upon, with a roster of professionals whose backgrounds span the spectrum of entry-level practitioners to public relations agency owners. The 2019-2021 National Black Public Relations Society-Detroit board members are:

Adrienne Woodland – President

I’m excited to welcome you to the new NBPRS Detroit website featuring our new logo, new color scheme and rebranding. This project began last year under our previous board and represents the exciting new course we are charting.

Since its founding in 2004, NBPRS Detroit has been dedicated to encouraging the participation of African Americans in the practice and study of public relations, marketing and communications. And the Detroit Chapter is committed to serving as a resource and venue for minority practitioners and professionals throughout Metro Detroit.

I am ecstatic to begin my two-year term as president of this vitally important organization. My platform is simple and builds upon our mission: Education, Expansion and Empowerment.  We plan to strategically work to empower minority PR professionals by providing rich content and critical information via a variety of resources and programming. Expand our reach by increasing our membership base and resources. And lastly, we plan to develop partnerships to better reach college students studying public relations, communications and other related fields to foster their interest in these areas and prepare them for their future careers.

So as we move further into 2020 be on the lookout for important announcements and information from NBPRS Detroit. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
